The Versatile E-Trike
Sportiness
In this category, weight and seat position play a decisive role, in particular, the so-called bottom bracket elevation:
The higher the bottom bracket compared to the seat, the lower the drag and the higher the power development. A high bottom bracket position is more suitable for sporty, trained people. Also, the chassis is taken into account. A long wheelbase leads to a higher score because of the increased stability at high speeds. Most of our vehicles with a large 26″ rear wheel do have a long wheelbase. As a specialist, the Scorpion fs 26 Enduro receives a model bonus for its excellent off-road capability.
Comfort
In this category, weight and seat position play a decisive role, in particular, the so-called bottom bracket elevation:
Comfortable boarding and disembarking as well as relaxed sitting are taken into the rating as criteria. With a high seat and upright seat angle, you can board your trike comfortably, while lower and more reclined seats give better aerodynamics for a faster trike. Models score points for comfort if you can choose freely between our different recumbent seats. A suspended chassis not only ensures a lot of comfort on the road but also delivers a vital plus in safety.
Travel suitability
Luggage racks for up to four panniers plus a top-load platform bring our designated travel experts to the pole position for your very big tour. If a model can carry particular heavy loads, it gains some extra points. A relaxed sitting position and a lot of ground clearance let you enjoy our touring recumbents when heading for the long journey even in rough terrain.
Everyday strength
An always reliable daily companion is distinguished by a particularly robust design with a clear focus on what is really important for everyday commuting. Simple maneuvering in traffic, at home in the garage or even in your apartment gives extra points. In this area, you benefit from a small turning circle, low weight, and easy handling. Models that compensate for deficits here with very own strengths, such as an excellent commuting vehicle or car replacement, receive a bonus.
Transportability
For HP Velotechnik’s engineers, transportability is an essential matter and therefore separate item in this list. The rating is influenced by factors like whether and how quickly and easily a bike or trike can be folded; how small it can be stowed; whether it can be transported in one part – or even pulled on roller wheels over the tarmac. Two-wheelers receive a bonus compared to trikes due to their immanently smaller dimensions.

Ergonomics
Above or Under Seat Steering?
Choose Your Ideal Handlebar Position!
No other component on a trike shapes your riding experience and sense of comfort as much as the steering system. The Delta tx® embraces flexibility, offering a wide range of customization options designed to match different comfort needs and riding styles.
For riders who prefer a classic bicycle feel, Above Seat Steering (ASS) feels familiar and intuitive. In its standard setup, you hold the handlebars in front of you, keeping control intuitive and everything clearly in view at all times. For easier mounting and added convenience, you can choose ASS with a Folding Stem, or upgrade up to the premium version ASS with Universal Joint for even greater ease of use, especially in tight turns.
Under Seat Steering (USS) offers a completely different experience. It creates the most relaxed, laid-back riding position: your arms rest comfortably at your sides while you enjoy an open, unobstructed panoramic view ahead, enhancing the sense of freedom on every ride.
Explore the options and discover how easily the Delta tx® adapts to your idea of comfort and enjoyment in everyday use. Better yet, try the different configurations in person. You will quickly find the setup that feels right for you. And if your preferences change over time, your dealer can reconfigure most steering systems to match your evolving riding style.

Above Seat Steering – Standard
A familiar setup for riders coming from traditional bicycles: with Above Seat Steering, all controls – brakes, shifting, motor support, and bell – are clearly arranged within easy reach. The display, showing information such as speed and reach, sits centrally in your field of vision. In tight turns, the handlebars follow a smooth, wide steering motion.

Above Seat Steering with Folding Stem
For easier mounting and added freedom of movement, the standard handlebar system can be upgraded with a Terracycle GlideFlex folding stem. It folds away smoothly, much like opening and closing a door, making access to the seat more comfortable. The maximum tilt angle can be finely adjusted for a personalized fit.

Above Seat Steering with Universal Joint (1)
For riders who value easy handling and maneuverability, our Above Seat Steering with Universal Joint offers an exceptionally comfortable steering experience. The integrated Universal Joint (aka Cardan Joint) gives the handlebar a remarkably light, responsive feel. The stem can pivot and change angle through the joint, so even small arm movements produce generous steering input, making tight turns easy.
Our engineers combined this steering design with an innovative quick-adjust system to create outstanding comfort and ergonomics. This award-winning concept earned the Delta tx® a prestigious Eurobike Award.

Above Seat Steering with Universal Joint (2)
Getting on and off the trike is very convenient. Like the ASS with Folding Stem, the handlebar can be moved forward for easier access when mounting or dismounting. While riding, you can leave it free-moving for flexibility or lock it into position using the small blue lever at the base of the stem. A convenient adjustment stop lets you fine-tune the handlebar angle.
Simply turn the silver adjustment knob to set the tilt of the steering assembly. Handlebar height and reach can be customized quickly and without tools using the quick-release mechanism on the stem.

(1)
With Under Seat Steering (USS), you enjoy the most relaxed riding position on the Delta tx®: your arms rest naturally alongside your body while your hands hold the grips in a comfortable, easy position. Steering feels intuitive and stable, and brake levers and other controls are always within easy reach. For even greater comfort, we recommend adding our Handrests.
What makes our Under Seat Steering truly unique is the way it is adjusted to your body size. The handlebar and seat mounting are combined into a single unit, positioned on a sliding carriage that can be moved along the trapezoidal frame after opening the three blue quick-release levers.

Under Seat Steering (2)
Comfort starts with the perfect fit. You can fine-tune the handlebar width and angle to match your individual riding position. For even easier access, a convenient quick-release beneath the seat allows the handlebar to fold backward in a moment. The extra room this creates is particularly valuable for wheelchair users transferring into the Delta tx®. With a single, effortless motion, what could otherwise be a barrier candisappear – making entry and exit remarkably easy and comfortable.
Precise Fit
Adjustment Details for Standard and Above Seat Steering with Folding Stem
To match your body dimensions and preferred handlebar position, we supply stems in three variants that differ in length and shape for individual fitting. A short stem is recommended for riders under 1.65 m (5’5″); the standard stem fits approximately 1.60–1.95 m (5’3″–6’5″); and taller riders above 1.90 m (6’3″) can choose a long stem.
For a even more precise fit, your dealer can also shorten the stems as needed. By combining all options, the trike can be perfectly adapted to your height as well as arm length and hand position.
For riders who want quick adjustment between users, the Stem Quick-Adjust option allows the central section to extend or retract by 8 cm (3.1″) simply by opening a quick-release-lever. This multifunctional component – developed by HP Velotechnik’s engineers – also integrates the front light and keeps cable routing neatly aligned along the handlebars.
A refined detail: The quick-release lever is angled at 90° so it sits flush with the stem. On the Above Seat Steering with Universal joint, a quick-adjust system for stem length adjustment comes already pre-installed.
Seat Options
Comfort, Tailored to You
No compromises: Since day one, HP Velotechnik has placed the highest priority on delivering an exceptional seating comfort and support. That’s why we developed multiple seat options that can be finely adjusted in many ways.
For the Delta tx®, you can choose between the ErgoMesh and the ErgoMesh Premium – both highly breathable mesh seats. Each is available in two heights: if you prefer a better overview, choose the HS version, which is 11 cm (4.3″) higher. Depending on your body size and your position on the frame, your seating height ranges from 59 to 71 cm (23.2″ to 28″).
Higher, wider, firmer: Both seat models are available in two sizes. The XL version is 5 cm (2.0″) wider, with a correspondingly higher backrest and longer seat surface. For the ErgoMesh Premium, there is also an XL Short version, combining the larger seat surface with a narrower backrest. On all seats, mesh tension can be individually adjusted by tightening or loosening the straps on the back.
Thanks to OrthoFlex® technology, even the standard ErgoMesh seat offers extensive adjustment options. Its core consists of four highly breathable padding elements that can also be trimmed to size. These 3D pads are inserted into four dedicated pockets on the seat and backrest and positioned according to your preference.
Premium advantage: With the ErgoMesh Premium, backrest and seat bottom can be adjusted independently within a range of 25°. With the optional Seat angle adapter, the backrest can even be set to an almost upright position.

Stepless Adjustment & Easy Split
One Trike for Multiple Riders
Tall or small? The Delta tx® main frame is available in one size and comfortably accommodates riders from 1.50 m (4’9″) to 2.00 m (6’6″) tall. Adjusting the fit is quick and easy: simply open the two blue quick-release levers and slide the seat along the upper frame rail to the desired position. On models equipped with Under Seat Steering, a third blue quick-release lever at the steering rod must also be opened to reposition the seat.
Beyond seat adjustment, the Delta tx® can be tailored to your individual needs in many other ways. This flexibility helps ensure long-lasting comfort and an optimal riding position for a wide range of riders. As you’ve already seen with the highly adjustable steering systems and seating options, personalization is a key part of the trike’s concept. For smaller riders, we recommend shorter crank arms instead of the standard 155 mm (6.1 in) version. These are available in 135 mm (5.3 in) for Bafang motors and the Shimano Steps E5000, or 140 mm (5.5 in) for other Shimano drive systems.
Two suspension options are available. Both can be adjusted to accommodate different rider weights and cargo loads. The standard DNM shock absorber features tool-free preload adjustment for quick and convenient setup. The optional Air Shock offers an even more sensitive response on rough roads and uneven surfaces, helping to enhance comfort and control. A matching air pump is included to make fine-tuning for different rider weights simple and convenient.

Easily separable: The Delta tx® can be separated into three sections in about three minutes using only a 5 mm Allen wrench. The front section measures 119 x 60 x 42 cm (46.8″ x 23.6″ x 16.5″; L x H x W, incl. pedals), while the rear section measures 122 x 75 x 60 cm (48″ x 29.5″ x 23.6″; incl. handlebars and platform carrier).
The seat can be easily stowed separately to it for transport in your car. The weight of the two frame sections is approximately the same, approximately 16 kg (36 lbs) each, making them easier and more comfortable to lift and handle.

Electric Assist as Standard
Fully Automatic Shifting Available on Request!
You have five electric motor options to choose from for the Delta tx®. All are mid-drive systems providing pedal assistance up to 25 km/h (16 mph, U.S. 20 mph). Riders who enjoy a more traditional, sporty cycling experience can choose one of three purely torque-sensing Shimano motors: the harder you pedal, the more assistance the system delivers.
The Shimano motor STEPS E5000 is ideal for budget-conscious riders looking for moderate support. The EP5 delivers 60 Nm of torque – already 50% more power on the chain. The high-end EP801 Cargo provides an impressive 85 Nm for strong acceleration from the very first pedal stroke. All three Shimano systems are Class 1 e-bikes in the U.S. and include a walk-assist function (up to 6 km/h / 4 mph), accessible through a sub-menu.
Getting started is even easier with the two Bafang motors, operated via a thumb lever. The M300 uses a cadence-based control system that requires only light pedaling while the motor continuously provides the selected support level. Your choice of one of five assistance levels also determines the maximum assisted speed.
Thanks to Smart Pedaling technology, the Bafang M410 HD is suited especially for riders with reduced leg strength. In standard mode, it is a powerful torque-sensing motor that responds directly to your pedaling force. Pressing the throttle activates walk assist to accelerate up to 6 km/h (4 mph) without pedaling. If you operate the thumb throttle of the EU-version at higher speeds while riding, the motor system switches to a cadence-controlled mode, allowing it to reach the speed selected in the assistance level even with very light pedaling.
The U.S. version of the M410 HD is configured as a Class 2 e-bike: The thumb lever operates as a throttle, enabling throttle-only riding and direct speed control without pedaling up to 20 mph.
Shift or don’t shift – it’s entirely up to you. With our automatic shifting systems, you don’t need to do a thing and still always ride in the optimal gear. At traffic light, for example, the system automatically selects the right gear for you when starting.
The Enviolo Trekking Automatiq hub not only shifts automatically, but also continuously and steplessly. It can be combined with the two Bafang motors or with the Shimano top model STEPS EP801 Cargo.
The ideal automatic partner for the STEPS E5000 is the 8-speed Nexus Di2 hub. If you prefer fewer shifts, the more powerful EP5 can also be paired with the e-bike-optimized 5-speed version of the Nexus Di2. For the top-of-the-line EP801 Cargo, the perfect match is the electronic Cues Di2 derailleur system: even when you are not pedaling, the chain continues to move when needed. This so-called Autoshift function always selects the appropriate gear from ten available ratios.
For riders who prefer closely spaced gear ratios, we also offer a true classic: the Rohloff Speedhub, a fully enclosed 14-speed hub gear known for its durability and low maintenance. It is especially popular with all-weather riders in demanding conditions. The version with the proven twist shifter is reserved for the EP801 Cargo and the Bafang M410 HD. Optionally, the Bafang system can also be equipped with the electronic Rohloff E14, where shifting via push button delivers exceptional ease and precision.

Freewheelin’ Twins
Confident Traction When You Need It Most
You want to remain as mobile as you always have been. To make that possible, we have given the Delta tx® the freedom it needs as well. For engineers, a vehicle with a driven rear axle and two rear wheels has always presented an interesting challenge: when cornering, the outer wheel travels a greater distance than the inner wheel.
A rigid axle would drive both wheels at the same speed, resulting in increased tire slip and compromised handling characteristics. The conventional solution is a differential gearbox. We chose not to use a differential for three reasons: it is mechanically complex, it adds weight, and it requires maintenance.
Instead, HP Velotechnik’s Freewheelin’ Twin Technology provides an elegant, lightweight alternative. Two freewheels, arranged axially within the rear axle, ensure that only the inner wheel is driven when cornering. This offers an additional advantage in a real-world situation familiar to many trike riders: on loose surfaces – such as when starting uphill on gravel – if one rear wheel loses traction and begins to spin, a conventional differential directs all drive power to that wheel. The result: you may not move forward at all. The Freewheelin’ Twins on the Delta tx® work differently. Drive power is automatically transmitted to both rear wheels, giving you excellent traction even in challenging conditions and helping you keep moving with confidence.
Luggage
You Want to Move a Lot – We Have the Trike for It!
Why choose between comfort and carrying capacity when you can have both? With our cargo systems, the Delta tx® can carry up to 60 kg (132 lbs) of groceries, gear and everyday essentials at seven different mounting locations – easily, securely, and with true suspension comfort. The versatile trike is stable and easy to ride, from daily errands, touring, to to winter outings.
For optimal handling, cargo should be carried as low and centrally as possible. That’s why we’ve reserved the space between the rear wheels for a sturdy cargo platform. Even better, we developed a matching oversized basket specifically for it. Simply lift it out by its handle and take it with you as a convenient shopping basket.
Of course, you can also use the platform without the 25 cm (10″) tall basket and transport larger items such as a beverage crate. The suspended rear rack offers a comfortable loading height of just 38 cm (15″), measures 48 × 32.5 cm (18.9″ × 12.8″), and supports loads of up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
Above the platform, there is ample room for a standard bicycle pannier. Simply attach it to the optional Bag mount behind the breathable mesh seat and carry up to 12 kg (26 lbs) of additional cargo. On either side, you can add HP Velotechnik’s custom-designed Add-on Bags, each providing 1.4 liters of extra storage.
What works in the rear also works up front. The optional front rack is ideal for loads of up to 10 kg (22 lbs). Because the cargo remains in your field of view at all times, it’s also a great solution for transporting small pets.
Need quick access to everyday essentials? Our Side Bag Mounts let you attach standard handlebar bags on the right, left, or both sides of the seat. Each mount supports up to 5 kg (11 lbs).
For even greater carrying capacity, you can combine the rear platform with an optional trailer hitch. This allows you to tow a child or cargo trailer up to 40 kg (88 lbs). If you regularly carry heavy loads, we recommend upgrading to the extra-powerful Shimano STEPS EP801 Cargo or Bafang M410 HD motor systems for maximum performance and towing capability.

Luggage Systems at a Glance
Your Delta tx® comfort trike offers these practical options for transporting your luggage.

The Luggage rack made of sturdy 20 mm aluminum tubing carries 25 kg. It can also be used without the basket: Transform the rack instantly into a versatile carrier – perfect for transporting a beverage crate or other bulky items with ease.

The Luggage basket for the rack between the rear wheels is a special design for HP Velotechnik – few others are as voluminous (53.5 x 37 x 25 cm / 21.1" x 14.6" x 9.8" – L x W x H). Equipped with a carrying handle and a safety rubber clip to hold it in place.

If you want to carry valuable items, choose the Cargo Box. This sturdy aluminum case, measuring 32 × 45 × 26 cm (12.6 × 17.7 × 10.2", L × W × H), can be rigidly mounted to the rack and is lined with protective foam. The waterproof box can also be securely locked.

Front rack: max. load 10 kg (22 lbs), measures: 35 × 32.5 cm (13.8" × 12.8"); incl. basket 40 × 33 × 16 cm / 15.7" × 13.0" × 6.3" (L x W x H).

Screw-On Profile: Two threaded aluminum rails make the Front rack compatible with the Racktime Snapit 2.0 system.

With the Side bag mount, you can mount handlebar bags on each side of the seat. They are always within easy reach, even while you are riding your trike.

Perfect for touring and traveling: With the optional Bag holder, you can carry a standard bike bag safely behind the seat.

The optional Add-on bags behind the seat are ideal for your small luggage. The left pocket has an airy mesh fabric on the side, ideal for stashing the optional Rain cover.

The optional Trailer coupling is designed for child or cargo trailers with Weber coupling. Permissible towing capacity: 40 kg (88 lbs).

Optional features for true individuals: Do you have your own notion of your ideal trike technology? With our modular system, we can build your trike to perfectly match your needs and desires. A whole range of reliable features and components is available for your Delta tx®, all of which have been specially developed to excel in everyday use. Here we present selected accessories. All other options can be found on our price pages and in our catalogs. Or take a look at the online configurator and get an additional visual impression.
You can contact your HP Velotechnik dealer for detailed advice. He knows the advantages of the various components and will gladly help you tailor your Delta tx®’s features to match your intended use, your riding style, and your needs.

ErgoMesh Premium seat
At the most important contact area between rider and bike, the seat systems from HP Velotechnik create an exemplary ergonomic connection. Maximum comfort is achieved with the optionally available ErgoMesh Premium. seat. Like with the ErgoMesh seat supplied as standard, you can choose between two seat heights and widths. To help you customize the seat, the backrest and seat surface of the ErgoMesh Premium can also be adjusted independently of each other. Its 3D-shaped seat frame, a highly breathable multi-layer support fabric and our sophisticated OrthoFlex® technology set the highest standards in terms of seating comfort.

Headrest
The Headrest for the ErgoMesh and Ergomesh Premium mesh seats can be adjusted in height and inclination in seconds thanks to its quick-release design. The mesh upholstery is washable.

Fenders / Mudguards
Excellent protection against splashing water: The SKS mudguards used on the Delta tx® are not only extra wide at 69 mm, but also particularly long and equipped with a flexible splash guard. Rear one side mounted.

rain cover for seats
The Rain cover for the seat is made of blue ripstop nylon – so your seat stays dry after a rain storm. You can always have the cover with you, it can be rolled or folded narrowly and then easily fits into the backrest (ErgoMesh seat) or into the optional Add-on bags behind your seat.

Rear Mirror
With the extra large viewing angle of the B+M Cycle Star E mirror, you can see what's going on behind you. The field of view is easily adjustable, but remains in position even on rough surfaces.

Lighting system IQ-X
With up to 150 lux, the exceptionally powerful IQ-X headlight from Busch+Müller illuminates the road ahead of you – literally a visible upgrade over the standard equipment.

Turn indicator
With our WingBling turn signal set, we offer a useful safety and comfort option for tricycles with e-drives. The rider's hands can safely remain on the handlebars while signaling a turn and can concentrate on turning and braking.

frame lock
Immobiliser: Push out the handle, pull out the key – and the powerful Frame lock AXA Imenso effectively locks the front wheel. The AXA accessory Chain for frame lock (1 m / 39" long) is recommended as an extra to securely lock the trike to a bicycle parking device.

Bike Flag
Safety is not a fashion statement: Many recumbent riders enjoy using a Flag to increase visibility in traffic; it belongs on their ride like a bell or horn. With our logo and eye-catching design, you'll bring a new level of attention to the road for everyone. Silver reflective material with orange print.

Air shock
Air shock instead of DNM DV-22 steel shock. Thanks to the included pump, you can easily adjust the suspension stiffness to match your payload. Equipped with adjustable hydraulic rebound damping and a blockable compression stage, it impresses with excellent response and it is also lighter than the steel spring element.

Anti-tip wheels
The Anti-tip wheels increase safety in extreme riding situations, for example on inclines or when starting off with a lot of power. Recommended for: tall riders, with a high seat, with a Bag holder, with a high luggage load; always with the extra powerful drive option Shimano STEPS EP801 Cargo.

Vertical parking stand
Space can be precious, especially in urban areas or at home when you want to park your bike. That's why we developed the Vertical parking stand. Two small 3D-printed blocks are bolted to the luggage basket, plus two short aluminum pins on the back of the seat. All parts are designed in such a way that luggage storage is not restricted. To set up the trike, you only need to briefly push on the Luggage rack with your foot and pull gently on the handlebars. This is even easier with the two small (optional) wheels under the luggage rack.

Coupled disc brakes
The Delta tx® is equipped with two independent brakes. It comes stock with separately controlled rear brakes. If you select the Coupled disc brakes option, you will need an additional stopper. If you choose to have the additional brake mounted at the front wheel instead of the rear wheel, the splitting capability of your trike will be limited due to the cable routing.

Parking Brake
What the handbrake does in the car is done by the Parking brake on the tricycle: safe parking even on sloping ground assured by a brake with a large thumb lock lever. The option is suitable for mounting on the rear wheel. If you want the stopper on the front wheel, this will limit the splittability of the Delta tx®.

Walking Aid Mount
Easy insertion, safe transport and fast removal of walking aids. The practical fastener of the Walking aid mount adjusts seamlessly to diameters from 20 to 31 mm (0.78" to 1.18"). HP Velotechnik's stainless steel clip fixates the walking aid and releases it again with a non-fumbling one hand operation.

Pedal with heel strap
The alternative for all those who do not want to or cannot use clipless pedal systems. Easy entry with any kind of shoe through the automatically self-righting positioning. Very firm hold, no accidential opening due to foot movement. To release the shoe, press briefly on the rubber reinforcement of the heel strap.

ErgoPedal with calf brace
Especially for users with functional impairments of feet and lower legs, the pedal allows simultaneous active and passive movements which can mobilise with every turn of the crank. Angle, width and height of the lower leg support are adjustable. This version does not rely on an SPD pedal for stability reasons.
