Which E-Drive fits?

Gekko fx 26 with GO SwissDrive E-Drive

The perfect match
Electric drive and recumbent cycle like made for each other!

Would you like to extend the action radius of your recumbent cycle? Smile as you climb the local hills with a trailer? Or how about a quick and relaxed ride into work? Choose one of our e-drives: just pedal and let the powerful motor, depending upon which model, give you up to 3x more drive power. It is easy to choose since our systems are some of the lightest on the market.

Radnabenmotor GO SwissDrive

Especially notable: that perfect cycle-riding-feeling does not change with the motor. Due to the HP Velotechnik programming there is no stuttering, no noise, and no delicate throttle. The e-drive is very safe: the support only starts when pedaled. The quiet support begins as soon as you start to pedal and subtly and electronically ends as the bike or trike reaches 25 km/h (15 mph, USA 32 km/h resp. 20 mph). (Higher supported speeds can be reached with our Scorpion fs 26 S-Pedelec).

This pre-programmed maximum speed allows your E-Scorpion in Europe to be a Pedelec (Pedal Electric Cycle) and can be ridden in the most EU countries without registration, helmet, or license plate. Once over 25 km/h (15 mph), the trike or bike rides basically like a normal Scorpion.

HP Velotechnik Scorpion with e-drive Shimano STEPS

The low weight of the vehicle allows a normal riding experience even if the battery is empty. When climbing, our trikes play out another advantage in that they hold their spur even at a slower pace. While stopping at a traffic light, there is no need to put your foot down!

You have the choice between two different drive systems to give your ride an extra punch: either the solid, dependable, and silent rear wheel drive GO SwissDrive or the boom-mounted Shimano STEPS with the innovative, automatic shifting, internal geared hub.

HP Velotechnik Scorpion - front boom with Shimano STEPS motor unit

Both power units have their own characteristics – just like you! That allows us to give to you the best possible solution for your needs. Both systems allow for a lower center of gravity, a low battery placement under the seat, and as an option, a Top-View display position above the end of the handlebar. You keep everything in view and arrive comfortably at your destination, regardless if you left the traffic jam in the city behind you, or are heavily loaded on tour.

Note: Please consult your dealer for your local legal requirements. The maximum allowed speed may be different.
