The direct rear-wheel drive delivers a particularly natural riding feel, providing smooth and responsive assistance exactly when you need it.
The Neodrives Z20’s specifications speak for themselves. The maximum level of assistance is 300 percent. During acceleration, the motor boosts its maximum power output to as much as 450 W. With a 576 Wh battery, you can achieve ranges of up to 136 kilometers (84 miles) on your recumbent bike or trike. The whisper-quiet rear-wheel drive is a gearless motor, so power is not lost through the sprocket or chain. This reduces wear on drivetrain components, allowing them to last up to four times longer than with a mid-drive motor.
A particular advantage of this hub motor system in contrast to bottom bracket motors is that it can recover energy when riding downhill, helping to extend your range. This energy recovery technology is called recuperation. Simply press a button on the control unit and the motor operates as a generator. This recharges the battery and also helps extend the lifespan of your disc brake pads The drive system benefits both the environment and your wallet. With modern green electricity, a full charge of riding enjoyment costs you only a few cents.
Perfect for your trike: The three-wheelers with Neodrives hub motor include a reverse gear for maneuvring. Reverse travel at speeds of up to 3 km/h (1.86 mph) is activated through a submenu in the control unit and initiated by a slight reverse movement by the rider.

The remote control for this innovative system is mounted directly on the handlebar grip. The most important settings can be adjusted with your thumb. The developers have arranged five buttons ergonomically in such a way that their size and placement feels intuitive from the very first ride. In other words, the large plus and minus buttons for changing assistance levels are absolutely easy to find.
The Neodrives Z20 also makes it easy to view information such as remaining range, battery charge level, motor support, daily distance travelled, and average speed. Thanks to the convenient user interface, the menus on the 2.4-inch display can be scrolled quickly and easily.
