Press room - velovision 12/2003
HP Velotechnik in the news: the following text is an excerpt from the magazine velovision, issue 12/2004. We recommend to order the complete magazine from the publishing house to read the whole story.
Hopping Along
HP Velotechnik are one of Germany's major recumbent makers, and they'd just launched a new model, the GrassHopper. With a seat height just between their lowish Speedmachine (40 cm) and their highish Street Machine (60 cm) it's clearly filling a gap. They also told me it adjusts well for short riders - down to about 158 cm (5' 2"). Weight is from 13,9 kg, and prices start at € 1990 via HP Velotechnik dealers.
The GrassHopper has one particularly interesting development, the 'Bodylink' seat: unlike most moulded-in-one-piece hardshell seats, this one can adjust for back length.
HP Velotechnik were also pleased to announce that they are the exclusive European importers of the Terracycle 'Glideflex' stem pivot: this is a beautifully-finished stem hinge has smooth, adjustable friction and can be retrofitted to many two-wheeled recumbents. If your stem wobbles, this could be the answer.
