Take a leap into the unknown!
Open up new horizons with the GrassHopper fx.
Tempting! This new machine invites you to ride it. Take a seat; you immediately feel comfortable. Rest your feet easily on the pedals. A firm push and you accelerate surprisingly fast. It is not like anything you have experienced before, but after a few minutes you are getting the hang of it and you begin to feel confident and in control. You begin to test its agility. You notice how relaxed you are and how smooth the road feels. You realize how free of strain your body feels and begin to appreciate the wide screen panorama view while riding – laid-back and enjoying it.
A space-saving miracle. With its two smooth running 20" wheels the GrassHopper fx is only 1,60 m in length, the most compact bike in our model range – shorter than your old tporing bike! The moderate seat height of 54 cm is comfortable even for shorter riders. People who cannot reach the ground on a conventional bike will have no problem putting both feet down when sitting on a GrassHopper. And if you need a bit of support, you can order the BionX power assist system to help you along.
The GrassHopper indulges you with comfort. The full suspension also increases riding safety, as control and traction are improved by keeping the wheels in contact with the ground. You also ride faster with a good suspension system as none of your pedaling energy is converted into up and down bumping of rider and bike. When riding the GrassHopper only the wheels negotiate the rough. Even riding on dirt roads results in a pleasure ride. The quality of the suspension system is most evident when riding with luggage or ascending.
The rear suspension is built using our proven No-Squat suspension design: The combination of a rigid rear swing arm with the accurate positioning of the pivot, a large chain idler and the shock linkage, effectively prevent any compression of the spring by pedaling force and unpleasant pedal rebound.

Dimensions folded:

The seat is removed by loosening three quick-release levers and can be fixed to the carrying strap of the transport cover. The two halves of the folded bike are clipped together using a simple ratchet strap and catch, which are mounted to the main tube.

Your luggage also rides fully suspended: strap your gear to our robust rear rack made of 10 mm tube. The low side bars keep your bags secure up to a weight limit of 25 kg. The rack also gives integrated protection for your rear light and mounting platform for your safety flag. Our Moonbiker recumbent bags are the perfect addition, specially designed and reinforced for our rear racks. |

Comfortable seat options: The GrassHopper can be equipped with the comfortable BodyLink seat. It fits your body like a glove.Seat base angle, seat back angle and length are fully adjustable. There is an optional headrest, and for optimum ventilation you can add our Airflow seat cushion.

Alternatively, you can choose our breathable ErgoMesh seat. It comes with an ergonomic cushioning that provides extra lateral support when cornering, and a practical seat pocket integrated into the backrest of the seat. For extra safety it is equipped with reflective stripes on both sides. Both seats fit onto the same frame mounts and can be removed from the bike within 15 seconds by quick release levers - this comes in handy when parking the bike in the rain or for transporting by car.

Comfortable Ergobars under the seat. No strain on wrists and neck. Length and angle adjustment. By angling the handlebars towards the back, even smaller riders can easily reach all the controls. The indirect steering gives a small turning circle and makes the GrassHopper very easy to control. Maintenance free running with sealed industrial bearings and self-lubricating ball joints.

Optional above seat steering incorporating the foldable Terracycle Glideflex stem for great aerodynamics. Whether Above Seat or Under Seat steering option: brake levers and shifters are always at hand.

Protection for chain and trousers; the drive train is almost completely covered. Our special low friction chain tubes guarantee an efficient power transmission and minimize noise.

HP Velotechnik uses comfortable recumbent specific suspension forks. Even the standard Spinner Grind2 is disc brake - ready. Disc brakes guarantee incredible braking performance when going downhill at speed, work in all conditions and save wear on your rims.

Perfect for heavy loads: Additional low rider rack under the seat. The low center of gravity offers great road handling. Max load 25 kg.

Our No-Squat suspension design offers complete comfort with no performance loss. When you push on the pedals all your energy is transferred into motion. The optional super light air shock from DT-Swiss can be easily adjusted to load changes with an air pump.

Your GrassHopper pulls multi-track trailers up to 40 kg / 88 lbs weight. This is ideal for child transport or for filling up at the supermarket.

The optional electric power assist system BionX PL250HT helps you with additional power when riding below 25 km/h. The system features 4 levels of power assistance, to give a range of up to 90 km of assisted cycling. When riding downhill, the energy from braking can be used to recharge the lightweight 36 V Li-Ion-battery. Integrated alarm system. The BionX system can be used in Germany without a driving license.
