A Scorpion on a Mission to Protect the Oceans

The diving safety organization DAN Europe has embarked on a sustainability tour across Europe. For six months, two DAN ambassadors will be on the road in 16 countries to raise awareness among companies, institutions and individuals for sustainable living. As one of two e-mobility suppliers, HP Velotechnik is supporting the organization, which promotes the safety and health of divers.

DAN Europe sees the sustainability tour as an appeal to everyone’s responsibility in dealing with the seas, oceans and waters around Europe. A Scorpion fs 26 Enduro is on board: the new service vehicle has already made a big impression at the organization’s headquarters in Italy on the Adriatic coast (Roseta degli Abruzzi). Meetings and presentations are planned for the Euro Tour, including with representatives of the UN and the EU. The trike will always play a role as an impressive example of the most sustainable and healthy form of e-mobility.

The two protagonists of the sustainability tour, Alana Alvarez and Manuel Bustelo, have announced that they will be visiting the HP Velotechnik recumbent factory on July 1. In addition to extensive discussions, they want to produce a lot of video material and report on the production of the environmentally friendly bikes. Paul Hollants, one of the two managing directors of HP Velotechnik, comments: “We are proud to be part of this Europe-wide campaign. The keywords environmentally friendly mobility and sustainability are our absolute core theme. They are the reason why Daniel Pulvermüller and I founded the company in 1993. That’s why we are also very pleased to welcome Alana and Manuel to our company in Kriftel.”

DAN Europe (Divers Alert Network Europe) is an international, non-profit medical and research organization founded in 1983 to promote the safety and health of divers. Divers are confronted with the issue of pollution, so to speak, every day they pursue their hobby. To underline the ambitions of their sustainability tour, they are not only riding the Scorpion fs 26 Enduro battery-electric, but also completing the European tour in an electric car.

HP Velotechnik is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of recumbent bicycles. Founded in 1993, the company from the Frankfurt area can look back on many successful new technical developments. This is associated with numerous international prizes and awards. Under the direction of company founders Paul Hollants and Daniel Pulvermüller, 45 employees, including four apprentices, produce around 2,000 premium bikes a year in Kriftel.
