„Come on, honey, isn’t the rain lovely right now?”

Streamer Weather Protection Bike Fairing

Cycling can be such a pleasure. Enjoy your ride with the Streamer and outsmart wind and weather. Experience the thrill of additional speed with your recumbent!

The Streamer is the front fairing for recumbent bicycles and trikes designed by HP Velotechnik. (not compatible with Pinion). The new Streamer 2.0 version impresses with its unique mounting system featuring just a single attachment point at the very front of the boom.

The resulting gain in comfort becomes apparent the moment you get on the bike. Simply tilt the weather shield forward – and after taking your seat, casually pull the screen back down until it locks into place. . It’s as easy as opening and closing a car door.

Protected From Rain and Wind

Cycling Season the Entire Year

Your recumbent already offers a significant aerodynamic advantage. With our streamlined front fairing, you can benefit from aerodynamics even more. The Streamer extends the cycling season to the entire year. Weather conditions that make many people park their bikes at home now become an invitation for a refreshing ride.

When riding in the rain, the Streamer keeps your legs dry, allowing you to cycle longer in normal trousers and shoes.

The fairing is also ideal for touring in fall and winter, as the Streamer makes riding in cold winds far more comfortable and enjoyable. Behind the compact windscreen, your feet are protected from icy airflow. In addition, you can often save yourself one or two extra layers of warm clothing.

Certified by German TÜV

Your Streamer: Impact-Resistant and Flexible

The Streamer is manufactured in a teardrop shape using a thermoforming process. This shape is perfectly adapted to the rider’s range of motion while minimizing frontal area and air resistance. The wind is guided smoothly around the rider’s body.

The aerodynamic improvement depends on the fairing adjustment and the design of your bicycle. The advantages become especially noticeable at higher speeds. The faster you ride, the more you will appreciate your Streamer.

The Streamer’s technical strengths are based in its excellent design and the use of high-quality materials. The fairing is highly impact-resistant and remains flexible even in winter conditions.

Passive safety is particularly important: Unlike many other transparent plastics, the screen material offers a high level of protection against shattering. It was specially tested by TÜV, Germany’s renowned safety inspection organization: even when deep-frozen to minus 20 degrees Celsius, it had to withstand the impact of a 2.3 kg steel ball dropped from a height of four meters.

The decisive factor in this endurance test is the plastic compound. It is based on PET, the material commonly known from water bottles. The extremely durable polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) material, only two millimeters thick, is enhanced with the additive “G” (PET-G). Only through the addition of glycol – also known as antifreeze – does the windshield gain its unique properties.

Practical Mounting System

Stability and Secure Fit

Since the fairing is mounted so that the rider looks over the windshield, usability is not affected even if the surface becomes slightly scratched over time through regular use.

While riding, the Streamer gains its stability from its curved shape. A rigid aluminum frame ensure a secure fit, while the windscreen is attached using a special hook-and-loop fastening tape. This eliminates the need for drill holes during installation, which could otherwise become potential breaking points. A practical side effect: if you detach the Streamer from the frame, you can simply roll it up for transport.

Particularly practical is the universally adjustable mounting system: by opening the quick-release clamp at the front attachment point, the angle can be adjusted. This allows you to easily adapt the Streamer to the range of motion required for shorter or longer legs.
