Cues Turns Into Enviolo

An announced novelty is not available – then we replace it with another solution at short notice!

No Delivery Date for the Icing on the Cake

Last summer Shimano announced an interesting invention: the first fully automatic derailleur. We planned this world novelty for our modular system after studying the details. It should have been the icing on the cake in combination with the also new Shimano motor EP801 Cargo. But to date (and for the foreseeable future), the world’s largest bicycle component manufacturer can give us, and as far as we know no one else, a reliable delivery date for the Cues Di2 shifting. Therefore, we make without further ado from the one option three!

Automatic Hub or Derailleur?

Our new highlight is the likewise automatic Enviolo shifting. Fascinating: The Trekking Automatiq not only automatically changes the gear ratio, it also does so steplessly – thanks to planetary gears. This is the ultimate in shifting comfort, and the rider can always pedal with the same leg force.

Our second option also works, just like the Enviolo, highly harmoniously in combination with the EP801 Cargo motor: the Sram GX is a classic 10-speed derailleur with barend shifters that fit ergonomically in the hand. Besides, the trikes equipped in such a way with a manual shifting are provided ex factory with a wiring for the Cues system with foresight. If in the future the fully automatic Cues shifting from Shimano is made available, the trikes would be prepared for a possible conversion, if desired.

In the short term, we have also reintroduced the proven predecessor model STEPS EP8 with the electric 11-speed derailleur XT Di2 from Shimano at an attractive price. For the “commuter models” of the Special Edition, this combination replaces the originally intended configuration with Cues shifting, but it is also available for freely configurable new bikes.

All details and prices can be found on the updated ordersheets and in our bike configurator. We have also adapted the online version of the catalogs.
