Glittering hotels, casinos promising fortunes and the unique canyon landscape are reasons enough to take a trip to Las Vegas. For thousands of cycling enthusiasts, however, there is a much more important occasion for making the annual pilgrimage to the Nevada Desert in late summer - the industry's biggest trade show: Interbike.
We at HP Velotechnik are looking forward to the show and to presenting exciting new products to all the visitors once again.
Besides a few small and neat equipment changes to our continued models, the presentation of our latest family member awaits our guests on booth 6079. Our new bestseller, Gekko fx, has got a little brother by its side for the new season 2012 - the Gekko separable touring trike. Built the same as the Gekko fx, but with a
separable frame instead of a folding hinge, the agile trike is particularly impressive in terms of its price. Even before it is actually presented, the Gekko collects first prize. The thought-out concept, clear design and highest finishing quality convinced the experts on the Eurobike jury. The result: a Eurobike Gold Award for the new HP Velotechnik Gekko trike!
New: Gekko touring trike
The new Gekko impresses with a clear use of form and elegantly reduced design at a very attractive price. The separable frame gives the customer a compact size for transportation. The volume of the dismantled tourer comes with very compact size, leaving enough room for plenty of other things that you want to take on a journey.
The equally compact price also leaves enough room for other new purchases in your financial planning. With a basic price of just 2,190.00 USD, the Gekko is currently the lowest priced three wheeler in the HP Velotechnik set. Our claim to quality also remains unscathed at the highest level when it comes to this trike. HP Velotechnik has equipped the little brother to our Gekko fx with hollow chamber rims, Avid BB5 disc brakes and a double powder coating in gleaming red or blue as standard.
Delivery of the Gekko starts in January 2012.
HP Velotechnik: Stand-up aid
Nothing is more emotional than having to stand back up from a HP Velotechnik recumbent bike. And because we would like to make it as quick and easy as possible for the customer to come away from
the maximum riding pleasure, from December 2011 there will be the new stand-up aid for nearly all
HP Velotechnik trikes. By the way: the practical retrofit handle also makes getting into the trike easier. A practical, useful accessory to make our three wheelers more suitable for rehabilitation purposes.
Schwalbe Tryker: The first trike tyre
The German tyre specialist, Schwalbe, together with
HP Velotechnik, has developed a 20 inch tyre especially for three wheelers. The 40 mm wide Schwalbe HPV Tryker combines high wear resistance with good smooth running, precise steering properties and puncture protection for everyday use. The 67 EPI carcass is covered by the integrated RaceGuard protection belt and reflective sidewalls. Despite a low weight of 360 g, the new three wheeler specialist comes with an ECE-R75 certification for e-bikes. Naturally the Tryker will be the new standard tyre on all HP Velotechnik custom trikes next season.
BionX: Two new power assist drivetrains
Riding the wave of electric drives, HP Velotechnik is expanding its electric range next season. In future, therefore, all customers who like to run on electric power will be able to choose between two systems. The PL250HT SL 48-Volt version offers absolute performance with 423 Wh and 40 Nm at a range of up to 105 km. But even the much more reasonably priced 26-Volt PL250M BionX system with 25 Nm enables the rider to switch on a tail wind for up to 65 km. Both systems increase the pleasure of cycling by at least 100 %. Available from January 2012.
Pletscher: height-adjustable kickstand
With the Comp Zoom height-adjustable kickstand made by Pletscher, all HP Velotechnik 2-wheel bikes will stand up more securely in future, as the stand length can be ideally adjusted to the tyre diameter fitted. The serial adjustment in our production line starts from November 2011
