The seat and pedals were designed to ensure maximum visibility in traffic while still enabling the rider to put both feet comfortably on the ground.
The seat consists of a padded, water resistant cushion and an air-permeable mesh seat back. The seat back mesh is fitted into an aluminium extrusion profile specially manufactured for HP Velotechnik. With this simple, secure connection the seat fits harmoniously into the overall Wavey design.
For an ergonomically correct riding position the seat can be adjusted in seconds for leg length and seat angle with two quick-release levers. Painful wrists, a sore backside and a stiff neck, common feelings on uprights bicycles, are a thing of the past with the Wavey - you can now start to experience comfort and fun.
The seat is great for longer journeys: after you have left the city behind, you can simply adjust the backrest downwards for a classic aerodynamic recumbent position.
Sophisticated frame geometry and the optimum location of the centre of gravity result in perfect handling.
The direct steering handlebars give positive and accurate control in all conditions, particularly over rough roads and tracks. The short wheelbase gives agility and maneuverability and does not compromise the stable handling characteristics of the bike. With the Wavey you can start to enjoy riding straight away without a long period of adjustment.
Due to the compact design and 20" wheels the bike is hardly longer than a standard mountain bike. This makes it easy to store or manoeuvre into a small flat. To make sure you don't get your clothes dirty, the chain is protected by running in low friction teflon tubes. The front chain wheel is safely covered with a double-sided guard.
The heart of the Wavey design is the main frame made of chrome-molybdenum steel. The heavily loaded steering tube area was strengthened with a special lug, just like all the recumbents made by HP Velotechnik. The curved tubes give the frame a certain amount of vertical elasticity. The model Wavey Tour is fitted with a Ballistic suspension fork (system steel spring + MCU-elastomer, adjustable) for additional comfort.

Pivoting handle bar stem
A pivoting handle bar stem is optionally available to customise your riding position and speed up getting on and off the bike. Simply pivot them forward to get on the bike and rest them back towards your body.

Streamer front fairing
The Streamer improves aerodynamics and offers excellent protection from wind and rain, turning your Wavey into an all year round vehicle. It is manufactured from transparent, shatter-proof plastic. It can be mounted and released in a few seconds. (optional)

Wavey topcase
The topcase is a practical and tough container with a capacity of about 30 litres (8 gal). It is quickly removed from the bike simply by pulling a handle. By simply turning a key, you lock it and secure it on your Wavey. It is supplied with a special bracket which is fixed to the frame. (optional)
