Scorpion fx. Folds fast, rides great.
HP Velotechnik's plush suspension and adjustable BodyLink seat assure relaxing comfort. The frame's cross member is bent up and forward to meet the sturdy wheels up front, giving a long wheelbase for safe braking, easy access to the seat and avoiding heel interference for smaller riders. With a seat height of 35 cm, the Scorpion fx' seat position is 9 cm higher and more upright than the more sporty standard Scorpion.
The wide track of 78 cm and the wheelbase of 102 cm guarantee a stable road holding and safe braking. With a total width of 83 cm, the Scorpion fx fits through a standard doorway. It has a tight turning circle of 4,5 m. The comfortable suspension offers 8,5 cm travel. It is designed to use standard steel spring or air-chamber rear shocks with adjustable hydraulic damping. HP Velotechnik's reliable No-Squat-Design assures fast acceleration without unwanted suspension pogo. The stiff aluminum frame allows for a low weight, starting at 16.5 kg. Frame and BodyLink-Seat are adjustable in length for riders from 1,57-2 m body height.

Plenty of space for your luggage, and it is all fully suspended. The rear rack is a rigid construction made from ½" alloy tubing, designed to withstand the high lateral forces when cornering on a trike. Extra 10 mm support tube to hang panniers lower. Integrated flag mount and rear light protection tube. Great aerodynamics and high packing volume are combined in our custom tailored Moonbiker panniers. |

You can attach an extra lowrider rack to the rear rack of the Scorpion fx. You can mount standard front panniers with up to 25 kgs load. The rack is made of 12mm tubing. |

The BodyLink seat fits your body like a glove. Seat base angle, seat back angle and length are fully adjustable. The lower seat pan gives some side support, while the upper seat gives enough room so that you can lean into curves for maximum cornering speed. Optional headrest and airflow seat cushion for optimum
ventilation.

Alternatively, you can mount our breathable ErgoMesh seat. It comes with an ergonomic side cushioning that provides extra side support when cornering, and a practical seat pocket integrated into the back rest of the seat. For extra safety is is equipped with reflective stripes on its sides. Both seats fit onto the same frame mounts and can be removed from the bike within 15 seconds by qick release mounts - this comes extra handy when parking the bike in the rain or for transport in your car. The ErgoMesh seat will give you a 3 cm higher seat hight compared to the BodyLink seat; with the extra high ErgoMesh HS plus seat your seat will be 14 cm higher. A higher seat position offers a better view in traffic and you can get easlily on and off your trike, however, with a higher seat your trike could tip over sooner when riding fast in narrow corners.

Comfortable ergo-bars under the seat for relaxed arms and wrists. HP Velotechnik’s refined steering geometry combines stable high-speed handling with a very small turning circle. Kingpins equipped with sturdy adjustable A-head-type bearings, steering rod ends with maintenance free bushings; maintenance free cartridge bearings at the stem pivot. The handlebar width is adjustable.

Protection for the chain and your trousers; the drivetrain is almost completely covered. Our special low friction chain tubes guarantee an efficient power transmission and silent action.

The optional front boom quick adjuster features quick release clamping and excess chain management - perfect if you want to share your trike with your family. It also helps to make your Scorpion fx even more compact when folded.

Optimized protection with elegant lines: HP Velotechnik's own design department developped the "Trikefender", robust fenders specially designed for trike use. The inner surface and the bottom edge are designed to provide maximum rider protection against spray, especially when cornering. The mounting elements with integrated height adjustment are installed shielded facing inwards to the rider. The round profile with 2 ¼ inch width enables you to mount wide comfortable tires up to 2 inches.

Due to the low centre of gravity and the well balanced weight distribution the Scorpion fx handles fine even when braking hard. The standard disc brakes offer great stopping power, allowing for a fast yet safely controllable downhill ride. Each wheel has it’s own brake lever so you can concentrate the braking power at the inner wheel in sharp turns. HP Velotechnik’s steering geometry avoids any unsafe brake steer. Optional mechanically or hydraulically coupled front brakes for one-hand operation of both brakes.

Our
No-Squat suspension system is integrated into the frame design. It is fully tunable for performance and works completely independently of your pedalling force. What it means is, if you accelerate uphill, you accelerate. And because it isolates you completely from the road, your energy goes entirely into forward motion.

You can tow trailers (double track) of up to 88 lbs weight. (Without rear rack. Chariot chainstay clamp-on coupling is compatible with rear rack. For customers that use the Weber-coupling we provide an adaptor to attach the coupling even with racks installed.)

Do you offer
electric drive assistance?
Certainly we do – this is
another domain of our trikes! Every vehicle from HP Velotechnik can be
equiped optionally with an eletric driving assistance. More an more
people discover the easy way of riding a trike while sitting absolutely
comfortable. The megatrend "E-Bike" is here coming to a peak. The
aerodynamic position of the rider is to save energy so your valuable
battery capacity can be used for an efficiently extensive riding
pleasures. The technic will be integrated without any problems into the
chassis. That does not only take effect for the hub motor in the rear
wheel, but as well for the control unit at the handlebar and the
rechargable battery – and as a very special feature you can assemble
your trike with a second battery to double the range!
